**TEACHING RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Raise student attainment and achievement standards in English and monitor and support student progress.
- To teach lower to upper secondary English as a first or second language in small class-size settings (Max 16).
- To deliver engaging and motivating lessons to students across all stages.
- Ensure that all lessons are planned with clear aims and objectives.
- To ensure that all lessons are delivered in line with the departmental schemes of work and centre policies.
- To take into account the differing ability lessons of students and differentiate work accordingly.
- To encourage all students to be actively engaged in their learning and in reviewing their progress against targets.
- To ensure that all students are known by name and that the classroom atmosphere is positive at all times.
- To encourage and foster intellectual curiosity.
- To deal with inappropriate behaviour quickly and effectively according to the school behaviour policy.
- To identify students at risk of underachievement in liaison with the principal and ensure that appropriate interventions are in place.
- To produce high-quality resources and take part in the creation of new schemes of work.
- To ensure that there is a high standard of display work in the classroom, which is changed frequently.
- To track progress through assessment and reporting within own teaching groups.
- To work as a team supporting other teaching members in spreading and sharing good practices.
- To ensure effective communication and consultation with parents and carers of students.
- Be willing to attend relevant courses/training that will stimulate and enhance the role of teacher of English and wider role within the school community.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- A passion for teaching English
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to teach at all levels up to IGCSE is an advantage
- At least 3 years of teaching experience
- Possess a related qualification
- Able to incorporate ICT into lessons
- Ability to motivate and enthuse students, and work collaboratively with other colleagues
- Calmness under pressure
- Resilience, commitment and confidence
- Both independent and a team player
- Flexible and adaptable

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
