BSI is currently seeking an individual with experience in managing social compliance programs or supply chain risk management programs to fill the role of Supply Chain Sustainability Consulting Specialist. The individual will be responsible for managing the day-to-day Supply Chain Sustainability activities and supplier communications for BSI’s Sustainability Practice, as well as supporting the practice’s Supplier Improvement Program activities in Asia. Supplier Improvement program (SIP) enables client’s to emphasis supplier ownership of their ESG/EHS programs and the solutions to improve their business practices.

The Consulting Specialist will be responsible for delivering technical guidance on a range of sustainability topics related to decent work, greenhouse gas management, worker safety, and more, primarily through the Supplier Improvement Program and bespoke consulting projects. The Consulting Specialist will be responsible for managing operations for BSI’s Supplier Improvement Program for various global clients, as well as coordination and scheduling of any other audits, training sessions, and events as needed.

The individual would ideally bring experience in social compliance audits, adult learning, coordinating largescale programs with multiple stakeholders and different payment processes, and be diligent in tracking supplier progress through the program. The individual will be responsible for contributing to BSI’s successful growth and profitability through support of consultative selling by the team to local clients and/or delivery of Supply Chain Sustainability services to prospective and existing clients.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Supplier communication, operational support, and technical guidance on topics delivered by the Supplier Improvement Program, including: Wastewater management, Hazardous waste management, Chemical management, Excessive Working hours, GHG accounting & reporting, GHG reduction planning, Industrial hygiene, Machine Guarding/Safety, Wages & Benefits, Fire Safety, Electrical Safety, Building structural safety, and Sustainable procurement
- Leading Operational support of the program via updating the client-facing program tracker from various data sources to communicate program status to clients, including: Dates during which the supplier has completed various steps of the program, Payment details and status, Engagement and training participation notes, and Client escalation procedure
- Supporting with the scheduling suppliers for live remote trainings depending on their training topic, payment status, and time zone
- Tracking individual supplier payments, updating the necessary trackers with payment status, and following up with unpaid suppliers on a routine schedule
- Providing regular updates to the BSI client team on program status and escalation issues
- Supporting delivery of onsite or remote training or consulting opportunities, including social compliance, EHS compliance, supply chain security and traceability, and other types of client engagement as needed, including but not limited to sending pre-scheduling communication, collecting information from client sites, providing pre-audit information and required document list to client sites, sending appointment letters if applicable, conducting the client or supplier consultation, training, or assessment, etc.
- Assisting in the planning and content development processes for in-person and online training sessions for various clients, as well as supporting training delivery
- Other administration and operational support work as needed
- Engage internal peers and client contacts within Key Accounts to understand client needs, co-create solutions based on BSI capabilities, and advance opportunities
- Support peers with their own sales strategies to drive growth of the Sustainability Practice by providing technical support before (e.g. content development and planning), during (e.g. client meetings), and post-client engagement (e.g. project scoping and proposal development)
- Support new service development based on market needs and regulatory trends
- Collaborate with peers across Consulting Practices (Environmental Compliance, Remediation Project Management, Safety, Supply Chain, Information Solutions, etc.) and Streams (Standards, Assurance, Regulatory Services) to identify commercial opportunities and assemble unique combinations of BSI resources to support client needs
- Provide input on practice-, topic-, and region-level strategy development

Education/Qualifications:

- Undergraduate degree, Master’s degree preferred, in a field relevant to Sustainability (e.g. to Sustainability (e.g. Environmental Engineering/Science, Sustainability, Energy Policy, Mechanical Engineering, Climate Science, or equivalent)
- Experience as a social compliance auditor and/or trainer
- Additional experience with worker safety, environmental compliance, greenhouse gas
