Transport Manager

Our client is logistics and transport company in Sarawak is looking for a Transport Manager, based in Kuching. As a Transport Manager, you will play a vital role in maintaining the operational efficiency and effectiveness of our refrigerated truck fleet. You will be responsible for overseeing the servicing and maintenance of trucks, checklist management, coordinating driver schedules, liaising with customers, and timely reporting to the Manager on operational matters. Your commitment to safety, organization, and communication will contribute significantly to the success of our transportation operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Oversee and lead the land transport operations and activities in Kuching and Sarawak.
- Ensure day to day operations run smoothly and efficiently. Coordinate resources required including manpower resources, trucks and drivers to ensure efficient transport operations.
- Ensure that Company’s plan is followed in all aspects related to transportation management.
- Oversee deliveries, routes, load and schedules planning. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth deliveries.
- Liase with customers, communicating effectively and responding to their requirements.
- Manage and enforce all safety aspects and staff.
- Ensure compliance with company and legal regulations and requirements.
- Plan and implement new policies, standard operating policies and Company initiatives with Management and HR. Contribute insights and recommendations for optimizing transport operations and enhancing efficiency.
- Responsible for budget and financial matters on transportation business.
- Maintain a comprehensive record of all truck servicing and maintenance activities. Develop and implement checklists for pre-trip inspections, ensuring that drivers adhere to safety protocols and vehicle standards.
- Regularly inspect trucks to ensure they are in optimal working condition and compliant with safety standards.
- Collaborate with external maintenance team to address any mechanical issues promptly.
- Adjust schedules as necessary to accommodate unforeseen changes in delivery plans or truck availability.
- Investigate any incidents and take appropriate corrective/preventive action promptly.
- Prepare regular reports detailing truck servicing, maintenance activities, and any operational challenges.
- Communicate directly with the Manager to provide updates on operational performance, challenges, and potential solutions.
- Ensure driver attendance & communicate driver emergency / medical leave promptly to respective department accordingly.
- Monitor drivers leave & make sure all leave are properly record in system.
- Track, monitor, report and control transportation costs.
- Coordinate with customers in term of delivery services KPI
- Maintain vehicles in peak operating conditions in order to keep deliveries and distributions on schedule and within their established budget, and minimize costs by maximizing fuel efficiency and minimizing unexpected repairs.
- To carry out others duties and responsibilities assigned by the management from time to time.

Qualifications:

- Minimum 4 to 5 years working experience in managerial position is required.
- Experience in logistics planning, truck maintenance planning & driver management are preferable.
- Proficiency in using computer software (MS Office) and systems for data management and reporting.
- Possess valid driving license and own transport.
- Must at least have GDL and E license full.
- Proven experience in handling refrigerated trucks and understanding of cold storage logistics.
- Detail-oriented and committed to ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
- Good communication skills in English, Chinese and Malay, both written and verbal.

**Salary**: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
