Post Basic Neonatal Staff Nurse

**Responsibilities**:
**1. Patient Care and Management**:
- Provide specialized nursing care to neonatal patients in the special care nursery, including premature infants and infants with medical conditions requiring intensive monitoring and treatment.
- Conduct thorough assessments of neonatal patients, including physical examinations, monitoring vital signs, and assessing developmental milestones.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed by healthcare professionals, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established protocols.
- Monitor and manage equipment and devices used in neonatal care, such as incubators, ventilators, and phototherapy units.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for each neonatal patient.
**2. Supervision and Leadership**:
- Provide guidance, support, and supervision to junior nursing staff in the special care nursery.
- Facilitate effective communication and teamwork among the nursing team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new staff members, ensuring their competence in providing neonatal care.
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately and ensure the completion of assigned tasks within the designated timeframes.
- Serve as a resource person for colleagues, assisting with complex patient cases and resolving clinical issues.
**3. Patient and Family Education**:
- Educate parents and family members on neonatal care, including feeding techniques, medication administration, and developmental stimulation.
- Provide emotional support and counseling to parents, addressing their concerns and helping them cope with the challenges of having a neonatal patient.
- Ensure clear and effective communication with parents regarding the progress and condition of their infant, involving them in the care planning process.
**4. Quality Assurance and Documentation**:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and infection control protocols in the special care nursery.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including audits, data collection, and performance improvement projects.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and update policies, procedures, and clinical guidelines related to neonatal care.
**5. Continuous Professional Development**:
- Stay updated on current research, evidence-based practices, and advancements in neonatal nursing through ongoing education and professional development activities.
- Attend relevant workshops, conferences, and training programs to enhance knowledge and skills in neonatal care.
- Actively participate in professional organizations and networks, sharing experiences and knowledge with peers in the field.
**Requirements**:
- Post Basic Neonatal
- Well-versed in technical skills, such as monitoring vital signs, checking pulse, and listening for indications of labored breathing.
- Able to identify and assist with conditions and symptoms that are sometimes complex.
- Fresh Graduates and above.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
