Admission Medical Records Assistant

The Admission cum Medical Records Assistant interviews patients on admission, records required personal information, secures signatures, prepares and supplies patients’ data to appropriate hospital departments.
You will be required to produce high standards of managing office activities which include but not limited to:
**Performs pre-admitting activities.**
1. Receives bookings from the clinic and to interviews patients before admissions to obtain required information and to explain hospital policies.
2. Screens insurance information to identify patient’s pre-admission approval from third party payors.
3. To be responsible in collecting cash, credit cards, online banking slip or cheques for cash paying patients
**Performs admitting activities.**
1. Notifies nursing unit of patients arrival and provides patients information literature.
2. Serves as a liaison with the insurance companies regarding the admission status and updates the logs on daily on the census listing.
3. Answers enquiries regarding admission procedures, hospital regulations and services of the hospital.
4. Attending all incoming calls and correspondence appropriately and courteously.
5. Assist in arranging hospital admission for patients, which includes patients’ registration, billing, discharging, payment collection, bed-board coordination and etc.
6. Perform a variety of clerical duties involved in maintaining patient medical records to include scanning, filing, retrieving and distributing medical records, loose notes and reports and maintaining associated logs and records in accordance with established priorities and procedures in any section of the Admission and Medical Record Division/Department or assisting in other departments in the hospital
7. To ensure patient medical records from wards, clinics and other designated areas are collected and delivered to the right work station.
8. During admission, examine patient medical records for completeness and ensuring all required information is included; note any deficiencies and refer to appropriate area for follow-up.
9. To assist and learn the Medical Records on all matters related to ICD Coding and reporting to the Ministry of Health.
10. Performing ad hoc duties as and when required including transferring patients to the respective department.
11. Any other duties that may be assigned by the HODs or the Managers.
**Requirements**:
1. Diploma, Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree,
2. Good Initiative with a positive attitude;
3. Good organizational and administrative skills; excellent attention to detail;
4. Ability to work accurately and effectively to deadlines;
5. Minimum Experience : 2 years relevant experience
6. Applicants should be Malaysian citizens.
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
