**About the Role**
- Reporting to the Manager of Functional Audit, this role is centred around providing technical knowledge and expertise in Internal Audit (IA), particularly within Finance.

You will conduct assurance activities over risk management and internal controls, supporting the delivery of our approved internal audit plan. This includes effectively and efficiently planning, executing, and delivering coverage of the IA Annual Plan, addressing processes and risks across various Functions and Assets, including SOX compliance.

Additionally, you will lead and deliver reviews in accordance with the IA Methodology, ensuring that all internal audits maintain a high degree of quality. Your responsibilities will encompass planning, executing, and reporting in compliance with our IA Audit Methodology, relevant BHP governance framework requirements, and applicable accounting standards.

You will make an impact by:

- Providing Subject Matter Expertise on Finance to assess the systems and controls established by BHP, managing risks with significant financial implications, including SOX compliance.
- Utilizing data analytics to refine audit scope, analyze trends, identify exceptions, and produce factually based outcomes that enhance the audit process.
- Leading and supporting risk culture assessments for Internal Audits, including Finance audits, through data collection, hypothesis development, interviews, and documentation of insights related to risk culture.
- Providing clarity on complex internal audit issues with appropriate SME support, promoting critical thinking to help the business improve its risk and control environment and foster a strong risk culture.
- Delivering timely, objective, complete, factually accurate, and professionally written internal audit reports that add value and provide stakeholders with the transparency needed for informed decision-making.
- Enhancing audit quality through effective stakeholder management and the timely delivery of audit outcomes.

**About You**
- A bachelor’s degree in commerce, Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated significant experience in Finance, Audit, and Accounting, with proven expertise in the resources industry.
- Strong understanding of Internal Auditing Standards.
- Deep knowledge of Australian, UK, and US regulatory reporting environments, along with strong familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures and requirements.
- A track record of engaging effectively with personnel across Finance, Functions, and Assets to enhance audit scope areas.
- Experience in mining, heavy manufacturing and/or Industrial industry work environments preferred.
- Completion of a professional accreditation or certification (i.e., CPA, CA or CIA) is preferred.

**Location and Roster**
- This role will be based at BHP corporate office in Kuala Lumpur. You will be working Monday-Friday roster and flexible working is also offered.
