**What We Expect From You**:
**Market Price Surveying**
- Regularly survey and compile price lists for contractors, subcontractors, materials, and labor to stay updated with current market rates.
- Analyse market trends to predict future cost movements and prepare for budget adjustments.

**Cost Benchmarking**
- Develop benchmarks for various types of costs based on gathered market data.
- Utilize these benchmarks to assess the competitiveness and fairness of prices quoted by contractors and suppliers.

**Compilation of Price Lists**
- Maintain a detailed database of current and historical prices for all design and construction elements including materials, labor, and subcontracting services.
- Update this price list regularly to ensure it reflects the latest market conditions.

**Quotation Verification**
- Act as a checker for quotations prepared by sales or design teams to ensure they are accurate and competitive based on the compiled price lists and market benchmarks.
- Verify that all cost estimates are comprehensive and include all necessary components such as materials, labor, overheads, and profit margins.

**Cost Analysis and Reporting**
- Provide detailed cost analysis and reporting to management and project teams, highlighting areas where costs can be optimized.
- Offer strategic insights into cost control measures based on detailed analysis of market data and internal cost performance.

**Supplier and Contractor Liaison**
- Foster relationships with suppliers and contractors to negotiate better prices or favorable terms.
- Evaluate and recommend suppliers and subcontractors based on cost competitiveness and quality of service.

**Requirements for the Position**
- Educational Background: Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, preferably in the interior design or construction industry.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in cost estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

**Knowledge**
- Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and market conditions.
- Familiarity with local construction laws, regulations, and standards.

**Personal Attributes**
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive in identifying cost-saving opportunities.
- Strong ethical standards and integrity.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Chinese, Malay, both written and spoken, is required.
