We are seeking a Repairing Technician to join our team on a contract basis.

The Telecom Repair Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing telecom issues and may be responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of systems, as well. They will also need to bring all necessary software to perform testing and be able to source replacement individual components.

**Responsibilities**:
Soldering and Assembly: Expertly handle soldering equipment to replace or rework defective electronic components on Ericsson circuit boards, ensuring adherence to industry standards for quality.

Software Configuration: Update, configure, and test the software in repaired Ericsson units as needed, ensuring optimal functionality according to manufacturer specifications.

Technical Documentation Maintenance: Accurately record all repairs, tests, parts used, and any deviations from standard procedures in technical logs or maintenance management systems.

Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks on repair equipment and tools to ensure that all hardware is in good working condition for efficient operation within the facility.

Electronics Repair and Troubleshooting Skills: The engineer should have a strong foundation in electronics repair principles, including component-level troubleshooting of complex telecommunication systems. This includes understanding schematic diagrams, using diagnostic tools such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, and having the hands-on skills to replace or rework defective components.

Soldering Skills: Proficiency in soldering techniques is crucial for this role because many repairs will require the replacement of small electronic components on circuit boards. The engineer should be comfortable using both surface-mount and through-hole soldering techniques, maintaining a high standard of quality to avoid introducing new faults during the repair process.

Knowledge of Telecommunication Standards and Protocols: A thorough understanding of various telecommunication standards and protocols is essential, as the engineer will deal with Radio Access Network (RAN) and core network modules. This includes knowledge about GSM, WCDMA, LTE, 5G NR standards, and other relevant technologies used in Ericsson equipment. Understanding how these systems work will help the engineer efficiently diagnose faults and verify the performance of repaired units.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Any in-house Ericsson training.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures.
- Prior experience in telecom equipment repair or a related field is preferred.
