**Responsibilities**:

- For Principal Malaysia, Principal Singapore and Principal Islamic Malaysia.
- Establishment of new funds.
- This includes but not limited to the drafting of offering documents (prospectus, information memorandum, disclosure documents and product highlights sheet), conducting review and due diligence against regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures (e.g. Head of Departments, Board of Directors), preparing the submission documents and submitting to the relevant regulators (i.e. Securities Commission Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, Monetary Authority of Singapore and Singapore Stock Exchange) and liaison with the relevant regulators for enquiries on the products and its submission.
- Product strategy.
- This include assisting the HOD in implementing the product strategy (includes both the strategic product strategy for the longer term and tactical product strategy for the shorter term, product priorities and product plannings), such as the determination of the product platform (how it looks like and what will it comprise of), positioning of products (which customer channels to anchor which products and the product features that should complements the customer channels), and creating/amending products to suit customers needs. Also to ensure that the product strategy is in line and complements with the company's business strategy, business priorities and business planning.
- Maintenance and management of existing funds.
- This involves maintenance of the existing offering documents of the funds, such as prospectus, information memorandum, disclosure documents and product highlights sheet. This can be done tactically via annual renewals of prospectus in Singapore, annual renewals of product highlights sheet in Malaysia and Singapore, as well as strategically via issuances of supplements and/or replacements prospectus, information memorandum and disclosure documents (where applicable) in Malaysia and Singapore.
- Rationalization of existing funds.
- This involves reviewing the existing funds for its viability, suitability and sustainability of the funds. Strategy on fund rationalization will include but not limited to fund closure, fund termination (this requires the calling of unit holders meeting), changing features of funds (e.g. changing structure of funds into multi class, establishing new share classes, introducing new currency classes, changing fund objectives, fund strategy and changing operational requirements of the funds sch as distribution policy and frequency).
- Research and analysis.
- This involves conducting continuous study, analysis of our products, markets, peers, group and competitors for better understanding, market knowledge and idea generations. Examples of research analysis includes but not limited to peer comparison, gap analysis, profitability analysis, competitors analysis, SWAT analysis, fee analysis and others. Sources used includes Lipper IM, Morningstar, Bloomberg, online news, webinars, conferences, seminars, and information derived from Principal Group of companies.
- Product Committee.
- To assist the HOD in arrangement for the Product Committee meeting, preparation of the agenda, materials for discussion and minutes of meetings. Also to assist the HOD in the implementation of Product Committee Meetings' follow-up items and actions to be taken.
- Budget.
- To assist the HOD in implementation of budget spending of the department accordingly to complements the company's direction, business strategy, priorities and planning. This includes cost management, project management and resources management.
- Processes.
- To implement and continuously review the internal processes to ensure compliance and relevance to the applicable acts, regulations, guidelines and policies as well as to assist and guide the team in the decision making and problem solving for the day-to-day works.
- Project Management.
- To see through each initiative from start to end (establishment of new fund, issuing of supplements/replacements) and ensure that the necessary documents are submitted to the regulators. Liaise closely with the relevant parties, both internally and externally, to ensure the completion of the initiatives/projects.
- Liaison.
- Liaising with all relevant parties for the project, including both the external and internal parties. External parties including but not limited to regulators (e.g. Securities Commission Malaysia, Bursa Malaysia, Bank Negara Malaysia, Monetary Authority of Singapore and Singapore Stock Exchange), solicitors, trustees, tax advisors, shariah advisors, index providers, target fund managers, sub-managers and sub-advisors. Internal parties includes all teams in Principal Malaysia, Principal Singapore and Principal Islamic Malaysia, as well as its management team, Board of Directors and Audit Committee.
