Material Manager

The Material Manager will be responsible for the organization, planning and management of all functions related to the management and call-off of raw materials, parts and accessories, and overseeing the warehouse and receiving areas.

- Obsolescence
- OTD (Inbound purchases)
- Logistics costs as % of sales
- Overdue Orders
- Order lead-times (purchase and delivery)
- Cycle Count
- Headcount
Duties & Responsibilities
- To identify and implement strategic process improvement opportunities and cost saving initiatives
- Work with Global Supply Chain Management to implement standardized practices for purchasing, planning and factory materials management that ensure effective use of inventory and logistics resources
- Defines and continuously improves the materials supply processes from all (3rd party and intercompany) vendors to the factory lines in a manner that eliminates non-value added activity and that supports a high efficiency production operation
- Liaises with site P&T, Manufacturing and QA to ensure achievement of supply chain objectives with respect to new suppliers, new products introduction, engineering change and product quality
- Continual enhance on warehouse management and receiving activities to ensure the most
effectives use of the resources and continuous reduction in logistics costs and storage cost

The Individual
**Education**:
- BS or MS required in Engineering or Science discipline. Professional certification (APICS, PMAC, CIPS, etc.) an advantage
**Experience**:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in advanced supply chain and logistics methods within an advanced equipment manufacturing or re-manufacturing organization
- Demonstrable experience of the management of a factory supply chain or logistics function and evidence of the delivery of measurable improvement in
- Well-developed computer skills with high competency in use of all programs within MS Office Suite. Well-developed analytical skills with the experience of presenting complex logistics problems in a coherent and structured
- Demonstrable experience of the implementation and management of advanced factory planning and inventory management methods.
- Experience of operating with a lean factory environment.
- Experience of and well developed methodology in the management transformation projects or programs within a complex organizational
- Well-developed understanding of SAP and with specific detailed implementation, change and operation of the SD and MM modules
Knowledge/Skills:
