1.0 PURPOSE

  • The Material Handler in a kraft paper conversion facility is responsible for the efficient movement, storage, and management of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies.
  • This role involves loading and unloading materials, preparing items for production, and ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • The Material Handler will collaborate closely with the production and warehouse teams to maintain smooth and uninterrupted production flow while adhering to safety standards.

2.0 REPORTING

  • The Material Handler reports to the Warehouse Coordinator / Warehouse Supervisor / Production Supervisor / Production Manager, Malaysia.

3.0 RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Material Handling and Storage:

  2. Load, unload, and transport raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.

  3. Store materials in designated locations, ensuring safe and organized stacking.

  4. Assign and support the material use for production to supply raw material and consumable items.

  5. Inventory Management:

  6. Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by performing regular stock counts and updating inventory systems.

  7. Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies or low inventory to the supervisor.
  8. Confirm the designated area to use for outbound warehouse to place the finished goods.

  9. Accountable for scanning completed pallet in the SAP system and recheck the materials items details.

  10. Support Production Operations:

  11. Supply production lines with raw materials as needed, ensuring minimal downtime.

  12. Remove finished products from the production area and prepare them for storage or shipment.
  13. Assist in packaging, labeling, and palletizing finished goods for dispatch.
  14. Issue and check the pallet condition for finished goods.
  15. Checking the wrapping film and wrapping conditions.

  16. Transfer, weight, and dispose lines scrap bin into the centralized scrap bin and record scrap weight into daily scrap records.

  17. Shipping and Receiving:

  18. Assist in receiving incoming shipments, verifying quantities and conditions against purchase orders.

  19. Prepare outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and completing shipping documentation.

  20. Equipment Maintenance:

  21. Perform routine checks on forklifts and other material handling equipment, reporting any maintenance needs or malfunctions.

  22. Ensure all equipment is used safely and according to company protocols.

  23. Safety and Compliance:

  24. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of materials.

  25. Adhere to company safety protocols and participate in regular safety training sessions.

  26. Continuous Improvement:

  27. Proactively identify opportunities to improve material handling processes, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.

  28. Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to streamline workflows and improve overall productivity.

4.0 MAIN TASKS

  • The Material Handler is responsible for efficiently loading, unloading, and transporting raw materials and finished products within the facility.
  • Key tasks include maintaining accurate inventory records, supplying production lines, assisting with shipping, and receiving, and ensuring the safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • The role emphasizes adherence to safety protocols and continuous improvement of material handling processes to enhance productivity.

5.0 PROFILE

Education and Experience:

  • SPM or equivalent required; experience in material handling or warehouse operations is preferred.
  • Certification in forklift operation is an advantage.

Skills:

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to xx kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to Detail: Accurate counting, labeling, and documentation of materials.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly address issues related to material shortages or delays.
  • Safety-Conscious: Knowledge of safety practices and a commitment to following established safety protocols.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a shift-based environment, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • This role involves working in an industrial environment with exposure to loud noises, dust, and heavy machinery.
  • Material Handlers must be comfortable working in physically demanding conditions, handling heavy materials, and operating material handling equipment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software is advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1, RM2,300.00 per month
