**General Duties**

A Lecturer will use appropriate pedagogy, assessment and evaluation, resources and technology in planning for and responding to the individual needs of students and learning communities. Lecturer will treat students equitably and with respect and shall be sensitive to factors that influence student learning. Lecturers will strive to understand and reflect on student development, learning theory, pedagogy, curriculum, ethics and educational research to uniform professional practice. Lecturers will promote and participate in the creation of collaborative and supportive learning communities. Lecturers will recognize that a commitment to ongoing professional learning is integral to effective practice and student learning.

**Requirements**:

- Certificate in teaching (Diploma or PGDE/PGCE in Teaching/Education).
- Previous English language teaching experience, preferably ESL. Possess good interpersonal and communication skills.

**Responsibilities**
- Prepare students in the **Canadian International Matriculation Programme (CIMP) **achieve Grade 10 literacy requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education and CIMP.
- Implement language instructional programmes and prepare lessons that accommodate to differences in students' abilities and learning styles.
- Support the development of curriculum, lessons, activities and rubrics that address students' needs.
- Research, evaluate, and prepare recommendations on curricula, instructional methods, assessments, technology, and materials for students that include native language, English Language Development and ESL materials.
- Support the development of performance assessments designed to assess English learners’ language and literacy skills. Provide home learning opportunities as appropriate.
