Job description

1. To report to Shift Supervisor.

2. To read processing schedules, operating logs, test results of oil samples, and laboratory recommendations to determine changes in equipment controls required to produce specified quantity and quality of product.

3. To move and sets controls, such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms, on control panels to control process variables, such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, catalyst, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units, such as heaters, furnaces, compressors, exchangers, reactors, quenchers, stabilizers, fractionators, rechargers, absorbers, strippers, debutanizers, stills, and towers is also one of the refinery operator job description.

4. To move controls to regulate valves, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary equipment to direct flow of product.

5. To reads temperature and pressure gauges and flowmeters, records readings, and compiles operating records.

6. To determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges, or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns. Refinery operator also doing inspection for equipment to determine location and nature of malfunction, such as leaks, breakages, and faulty valves.

7. To determine need for schedules and performs repair and maintenance of equipment.

8. Patrols unit to verify safe and efficient operating conditions. May sample liquids and gases and test products for chemical characteristics and colour.

9. To inspect and adjust furnaces, heaters, and damper controls. To lubricate equipment if required.

10. To clean interior of processing units by circulating chemicals and solvents through them.

11. To control activities of several processing units operated in conjunction.

12. To assign based on process involved or plant operated as Absorption Plant Operator.

13. To execute any duties as instructed by the superior from time to time for the benefit of the company.

Pay: RM1,600.00 - RM2,000.00 per month
