**JOB DESCRIPTION**
JOB TITLE : HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR (PUBLIC AREA/ ROOM)
REPORTS TO : ASST HOUSEKEEPER / XECUTIVE HOUSEKEEPER
**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum SPM or equivalent
- 2 years experience working in the Housekeeping Department
- Computer literate
- Independent and self-motivated with good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Possess strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work in shift working environment
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (PUBLIC AREA)**
1. Perform secondary duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
2. Allocate daily assignments to Public Area Attendants. Priority on busy locations.
3. Take charge of day to day running of public areas. Monitor closely on cleanliness of public washroom.
4. Enforce and improve quality and service standards and procedures.
5. Inspects public restrooms, lobby, hotel’s surrounding, all functions rooms, all Food and Beverage Outlets, Offices and back of the house and that these areas are maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness.
6. Determine the need for shampooing, spring cleaning, polishing in all areas. Create a Matrix focus areas.
7. Supervise that all staff are carrying out their jobs according to schedule and cleanliness to the highest standard.
8. Must be well informed about all the jobs which are carried out by the Public Area Attendants.
9. Be responsible for the proper handling and control of all Housekeeping cleaning Equipment’s and chemicals.
10. Check on cleanliness of working tools and equipment’s. Monthly inventory equipment needed.
11. Knowledge of safety requirement operating of various machines.
12. Reports defects to Engineering department and follow up to ensure job is done.
13. Conduct briefing with Public Area Attendants. ‘Reminder’ always place a signage around while in progress cleaning
14. Assist in job training, counseling and guide all Housekeeping Public Area Attendants.
15. Oversee special projects/ program assigned by the Assistant Housekeeper and Assistant Executive Housekeeper ensuring work is carried out accordingly.
16. Prepare duty rosters for all staff according to local requirements and forecasted occupancy and events.
17. Carry out on-the-job training and of-the-job training on regular basis.
18. Monitor the effectiveness of training and the progress of improvement in staff quality, services and standards.
19. Create a positive and highly motivated working environment.
20. Promote and develop teamwork.
21. Develop communication tools and channels for information dissemination and workflow.
22. Ensure supplies are ordered as per usage factor or occupancy and event forecast.
23. Ensure regular preventive maintenance and general cleaning are carried out in the public areas.
24. Supervise public areas assignment.
25. Ensure and maintain proper/ correct way of handling equipment - carts/ baskets.
26. Ensure and maintain high cleaning standards on all public areas.
27. To ordinate the maintenance of furniture and fixture, carpet and upholstery and equipment in all public areas.
28. Responsible for delivering all guest request On Time while on the overnight shift.
29. Maximize recycling opportunities while it is not jeopardizing quality assurance.
**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (ROOM)**
1. Perform secondary duties as assigned by the Executive Housekeeper.
2. Report on adverse guest comment as and when required.
3. Conduct morning briefing to Room Attendant.
4. Report and record Lost and Damaged items.
5. Prepare duty rosters of service associate rooms.
6. Identify and conduct training to maintain the standard of Team.
7. Allocate daily assignment for Attendant.
8. Check daily occupancy report.
9. Read and update communication log book and follow up or communicate as required.
10. Check all the guest rooms, VIP in-house, VIP arrival, occupied rooms, OOO rooms, Vacant Clean rooms and long staying guests.
11. Inspect all areas corridors, pantry, service area, and staircase and ensure they are clean at all times.
12. Report to Engineering for any maintenance jobs and follow up to ensure job is completed.
13. Document all incidences in logbook.
14. Attend to guest requests and complaints.
15. Check on the standard of “Turn downs service”.
16. Revise daily work schedule depending on occupancy and last minutes events.
17. Liaise closely with Front Office regarding guest room status.
18. Maximize recycling opportunities while it is not jeopardizing quality assurance.
19. Represent as an active Team Player with a 'Hands On' approach.
**Salary**: RM1,900.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
