Job Description : Production Planner Job Summary: Prepares manufacturing schedules for Capital Equipment, Product Enhancements and Sales orders through Material Requirements Planning (MRP). Analyze and release orders to manufacturing and purchasing requisitions for lon g lead items to meet schedule demands. Responsible for all scheduling activities within selected manufacturing departments delegated by Senior Production Planner or management. Exercise judgement within generally defined procedures to determine appropriate action. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Review MRP weekly to evaluate manufacturing and purchase requirements. - Schedule and release shop orders to manufacturing to meet MRP demand. - Analyze material shortages and determine impact on schedu les. Advise relevant parties of inability to meet scheduled due date. - Monitor and evaluate work center capacity. Communicate and negotiate schedules with Production Supervisor, recommending alternatives should capacity conflicts arise. - Day to day commu nication with other functional departments regarding schedule changes or conflicts. - Attend Engineering change review board meetings. Provide inventory data and impact on manufacturing schedules. Determine effective date of change. - Execute approved engin eering changes. - Assist in the development of standard cost. - Project cost analysis at manufacturing completion. Determine reasons for overage or under against quoted cost. Shachihata Inc. was established in 1925 in Nagoya Japan.
