The main purpose of the Barista is to oversee the operation in the BOH section and to ensure that all the section is prepared for the operation and all orders are delivered as per set standards and in proper presentation and display

Related duties and responsibilities

1. Supervises the preparation and production of all pastry products

2. Monitoring the receiving of ingredients and other supplies from suppliers/storekeeper as required for daily operations

3. Follows Outlet Manager’s instructions and works on implementation

4. Monitors the cleaning and disinfection of works areas, utensils and equipment

5. Maintains the proper functioning of the chocolate fountains, crepe and waffle, blenders, coffee machine, chillers and freezers and makes sure closed control and follow up

6. Detect and ensures disposition of spoiled or unattractive food, defective supplies/equipment, and/or other unusual conditions

7. Follows up and executes production sheets and other records as required with the coordination of Outlet Manager

8. Follow up and monitors commitment in all checklist and log sheets

9. Monitors and control products shelf life and prevents product expiration

10. Ready to cover in special circumstances (emergency absenteeism of any team members)

11. Trains and coaches all new hired employees in his department to meet job requirements and supervise their performance with the coordination of Outlet Manager

12. Ensures compliance with Company’s policies and procedures

13. Ensure compliance with the Step by Step Book, preparation and cooking methods

14. Makes sure commitment in recipes and kitchen charts as well as the portioning details

15. Communicates with Outlet Manager and follow up on all production matters

16. Prepares orders for the Central Kitchen and makes sure commitment in par level and follows up receiving of products as requested

17. Reports regularly to Outlet Manager with all B.O.H gapes like item shortage and emergency cases

18. Reports regularly with maintenance matters to Outlet Managers

19. Controls delivery timing of all menu items and makes sure of the proper speed of service is maintained

20. Tracks, controls wastes and works on reduction

21. Performs the Section Checklist in order to determine deviations and to set corrective actions with the communication of Outlet Manager

22. Assists in handling the daily inventory items as well as the monthly

23. Perform other related duties as assigned

Communication & Working Relationships

1. Communicates professionally with all team members and Outlet Manager while keeping a productive working environment

2. Communicates with the stewards while keeping a healthy and clean environment
