Manager Accident and Incident Investigation

**Reports To**:
Head, Corporate Safety Oversight
**Role Purpose**:
Accountable for the effective implementation and maintenance of the Risk Management programme through effective incident and accident investigation to ensure safe and secure operation.
**Key Accountability**:
- Implementation of the Risk Management programme including the effective corrective and preventive actions as applicable;
- Incident & Accident Investigation as assigned in accordance with ICAO Annex 13 and company procedures;
- Responsible for the performance of the Incident & Accident Investigation.
- Conduct Safety Investigation of accidents, incidents and irregularities related to operations of flight;
- To put in place timely and effective control measures to mitigate risk associated with aircraft operation to an Acceptable Level of Safety Performance (ALoSP);
- Complete the closure of safety investigation and effective implementation of corrective action/recommendation related to aircraft/ground operations;
- Communicate and coordinate with appropriate operational managers/BU's in addressing the emerging risk related to aircraft operations, accurate review, entering risk rating and assignment of occurrence reports;
- Monitor safety anchor persons activities to ensure accurate review, entering, risk rating and assignment;
- Responsible for the performance of the safety investigation and corrective action/ recommendation closure;
- Provide Safety investigation related information for dissemination via safety magazine/ newsletter;
- Any other relevant tasks as assigned by Head CSO.
**Qualifications & Working Experience**:
- Degree in any field with 10 years of working experience.
- Diploma in any field.
- Pilot, engineer or qualified safety professional with a minimum 10 years related experience.
- Incident/accident investigator training or qualification.
- Human Factors and/or safety management system qualification.
- Tertiary qualification is preferred.
**Skills & Knowledge**:
- Able to conduct accident/incident investigation internally, assist external or state investigator and generate investigation reports in accordance to the procedures.
- Able to perform effective risk management activities across the organization, in coordination with respective BU's Safety Anchor Person/ respective HOD.
- Adequate knowledge in the implementation of Safety Management System, which includes safety policy development, risk management activities, safety assurance, and promotion.
- Good statistical analysis skill.
- Inculcating safety and compliance behavior/culture among operational staff to minimize or avoid preventable incidents and accidents at work place.
- Be Lead Investigator on safety investigations when assigned by Head, CSO.
- Edit occurrence report data to ensure its integrity and accuracy.
