**Responsibilities**: Assist CFO in formulating financial strategies, developing financial plans, leading and overseeing the Finance Department, to implement and execute efficient & effective internal controls, overseeing the preparation of financial reports, monthly/ quarterly/annual closing processes, compliance audits and budgeting process. - Responsible for the full spectrum of financial and technical accounting functions which include Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivables and General Ledger. - Maintain a full set of accounts including monitoring of the daily processing of payments, invoicing, collection, and ensuring timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for the assigned portfolios. - Responsible to attend to any issues related to collection matters. - Responsible for annual statutory reporting, including preparation of draft financial reports and dealing with audit-related matters to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. - Treasury management including cashflow reporting and liaising with all the financial institutions on banking-related matters. - Responsible for preparation of monthly consolidation of financial statements and support for any new developments within the educational segment. - Responsible for the preparation of monthly management reports and analytics for management committee meetings. - Lead and was responsible for the annual business plan process and monthly financial forecast. Analyses a variety of financial information (e.g., revenues, expenditures, cash management, cost projections, for the purpose of providing direction and support, making recommendations, maximizing use of funds, and/or ensuring overall operations are within budget). - Drive improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of reporting. - Participate in strategic analysis, continuously propose, and make recommendations that optimize business processes, workflows, and internal control. - Drive implementation of new business processes, systems or initiatives that align with the group's direction. - Support and ensure compliance with all finance filing requirements, tax filing requirements (SST/WHT/ etc.), audits, 0th.er statutory requirements and internal procedures. - Support/ collaborate/ liaise with internal stakeholders, customers, suppliers, external auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and other authority bodies. - Line-manage all members of the finance team, to develop their skills both individually and as a team so that they can provide the best service for the department. This will include the induction, appraisal, and performance management of team members. - Collaborate with the Management, undertake any other duties or tasks that may be reasonably required by the Management that may be reasonably foreseen through proactive role engagement and deal with matters arising in a timely and effective manner. **Job Requirements**: - Degree in Accounting, Professional Qualification (i.e., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, MIA etc.) or equivalent. - Must have at least 7-8 years of working experience in Finance, specifically within an international school background. - Good team player with a proven ability to build strong relationships with key individuals. - Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills including the ability to connect and work cross functionally. - Adaptable and readily to embrace changes or new developments. - Ability to lead a team and work in a dynamic environment. - Efficient in planning and execution of assignments to meet deadlines. - Ability to work quickly and accurately, especially under pressure; and within a cross-culture, virtual team and global environment. - Organised, strong time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet established deadlines. - Good knowledge of Malaysia Financial Reporting Standards ("MRFS") and development within the accounting industry. - Good understanding of accounting systems and, or ERP system. **Job Types**: Full-time, Contract Contract length: 12 months **Benefits**: - Dental insurance - Health insurance - Maternity leave - Opportunities for promotion - Parental leave Schedule: - Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: - Performance bonus - Yearly bonus Application Question(s): - What is your expected monthly salary (in MYR) for this role? - What is your current notice period? **Experience**: - Corporate finance: 7 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
