**About the Company**
Our client is a full-service law firm based in Malaysia, offering expertise in dispute resolution, corporate and commercial law, conveyancing, and estate planning. The firm serves a diverse clientele, including individuals, businesses, and institutions, providing tailored legal solutions. Known for its commitment to integrity, professionalism, and client-focused service, the firm is a trusted name in the legal industry.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**Responsibility 1 - Financial Management**
(i) Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements;
- Analyse financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner;
- Oversee all financial accounting not only for our company, group, the law firm but also for our BPO clients.;
- Ensure the finance reports generated for BPO clients align with their requirements; and
- Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
(ii) Budget Development & Monitoring:
- Collaborate with senior leadership and heads of departments to create and implement annual budgets;
- Monitor and report on financial performance against the budget;
- Evaluate and propose cost reduction opportunities; and
- Recommend improvements as necessary.
(iii) Cash Flow Management:
- Oversee the firm’s cash flow, ensuring liquidity for operations; and
- Manage and maximise returns on idle funds.
(iv) Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that the firm, as well as the BPO client processes, meet all local financial and tax regulations. This includes accurate and timely tax filings and payments; and
- Keep up to date with legal requirements regarding financial operations for legal firms.
(v) Strategic Financial Planning:
- Participate in long-term financial planning, risk management, and investment strategies to support the firm’s growth and sustainability.
(vi) Process Improvement & Automation:
- Periodically review and update the finance framework when necessary, including developing and implementing new finance policies and procedures; and
- Initiate and manage finance automation projects tailored to BPO client needs, aiming to improve finance department workflow and efficiency and ensure client satisfaction.
(vii) Team Leadership:
- Mentor and lead the finance team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, as well as continuous professional development;
- Ensure team members are trained in the requirements of each BPO client;
- Provide education and training sessions when necessary to ensure the team is utilising the most up-to-date financial management techniques and tools;
- Set goals and objectives for team members; and
- Conduct periodical performance reviews with team members.
**Responsibility 2 - Learning & Development**
- Direct the design, content, planning, and implementation of corporate internal and external training programs aligned with the objectives and strategy of the company.
- Collaborates with leadership functional management teams to assess ongoing and future training and development needs as well as the effectiveness of established programs.
- Identify opportunities and implement strategies to enhance self-awareness, communication, leadership and team-building skills within and outside of the group.
- Any other duties assigned by the management from time to time.
**Job Requirements**:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is compulsory;
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance or accounting roles with at least 5 years in a managerial position;
- Deep understanding of financial principles, budgeting with financial software is essential. Knowledge in Xero Accounting Software system, QuickBooks system and Swingvy system will be an added advantage;
- Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills;
- Strong leadership and team management abilities;
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders;
- Excellent time management skills and flexibility in dealing with multi-functional tasks.
