Sustainability Consultant

Local Unit & Position Description:
Supply Chain & Product Assurance (SCPA) in South East Asia (SEA) focuses on sustainability solutions, supply chain, digital & Product Assurance. DNV’s vision is to be a trusted voice to tackle global transformation and providing management and technical advisory, assurance services for Food, Healthcare, digital, Energy and ICT sectors, focusing on Decarbonisation, Digital Transformation and Sustainable Development.

The Assessor will be responsible for Project management, Technical Assessment, training, product development, delivery of Advisory and Assurance projects for Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Sustainability assurance services in SEA.

**Main Responsibilities**:

- Evaluation of ESG Principles for the chosen guidelines ex: Sustainability context, Materiality assessment and stakeholder engagement process and outcome, including responses to identified material aspects;
- Advisory and assurance of qualitative and quantitative disclosure including Economic, environment, labour, Human rights, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives;
- Assurance and Verification of Climate change - Green-House-Gas (GHG) projects;
- Interaction with senior management of DNV Clientele Evaluation of ESG issues, Enterprise Risk Management program, Legal, Ethics and Governance process including Grievance mechanism;
- Evaluation of measurement and monitoring progress against sustainability strategies, objectives and performance targets;
- Evaluation of appropriate internal controls and measurement systems are in place to support sustainability efforts, setting up ESG visions, Decarbonisation
- Net Zero priorities, CDP, TCFD, Sustainability ratings/indices etc;
- Follow-up, negotiate and conclude business contracts to achieve individual targets for Sustainability and ESG advisory & assurance services;
- Sustain existing customers’ loyalty, deal with sales requests in coordination with other DNV departments;
- Conduct workshop and training programmes to create awareness of sustainability & ESG topics
- Conducts research to identify environmental and sustainability concerns, interests, and issues, support in development of DNV ESG and Climate change thought leadership among target industry and markets;
- In relation with the area to cover, the expectations is that the incumbent shall be ready to travel in her/his dedicated geography (~60-70% of the overall time to be on chargeable projects);
- In a proactive mode, approach targeted companies, identify and generate business opportunities in line with DNV services portfolio;
Position Qualifications:

- Environmental Engineering or Science Master’s degree or MBA in Sustainability, Industrial Engineering;
- Minimum **5-8 years** of relevant managerial and project management experience on Technical Project Delivery, Subject Matter expertise on Climate Finance, Sustainability, Supply Chain Risk Management Consultancy, assessments;
- Sustainability and ESG related work experience of **3-5 years** from sectors like mines & metals, oil & gas, power, infrastructure, pharma, real estate, shipping, chemical, services like hospitality, IT etc.;
- Experience in Decarbonisation strategy and ESG advisory, exposure on international standard of sustainable development, Climate change, Energy, Water, Waste management;
- Experience in ISAE 3000 or AA1000, ISO 14064 Assurance and verification engagement would be highly desirable;
Commercial, entrepreneurial and market developer mindset (business development, marketing and sales), efficient, independent but accountable;
- Strong interpersonal relationship capability, ability to work with a team and other stakeholders;
- Ability to influence and convince the decision makers by listening to their expectations, understanding their business model and goals, offering adapted / innovative / value added solutions;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and local language (i.e. Bahasa Melayu, chinese dialect)
