**Reports To**:

- General Manager, Management and Statutory Reporting

**Role Purpose**:

- The Statutory Reporting and Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation and submission of all statutory reports and ensuring that the company complies with all applicable financial regulations and approved accounting standard. This includes managing the financial reporting calendar, developing and implementing reporting policies and procedures, and working with auditors to ensure that the company's financial statements are accurate and compliant.**Key Accountability**:

- Oversee the preparation and submission of all statutory reports, including financial statements, and other regulatory filings for the MAG Group
- Develop and implement reporting policies and procedures, review and propose accounting treatment based on the approved accounting standard
- Manage the financial reporting calendar, work with auditors to ensure that the company's financial statements are accurate and compliant to the approved accounting standard
- Stay up-to-date on all applicable financial regulations, adoption of the new accounting standard and ensure that the company is in compliance
- Oversee development and input gathering of divisional finance policies, standards and internal controls, provide advice and guidance to senior management on financial reporting and compliance matters, and provide overall leadership and guidance within the team and create, lead and and motivate a high performance team
- Identify and mitigate financial reporting risks

**Qualifications & Working Experience**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance and or Professional Qualification (ACCA, ICAEW, CPA, MIA etc)
- 4+ years of experience in financial reporting, preferably with a focus on statutory reporting and compliance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with financial reporting systems/ SAP

**Skill & Knowledge**:

- Leadership - Possess strong leadership qualities and build a collaborative approach in the overall development of direction and operation function
- Technical - Excellent analytical and interpersonal communication skills; hold extensive and in-depth professional knowledge and understanding of divisions business and financial operation
- Managerial - Possess strong management and conflict resolution skills and ability to multi task
- Industry knowledge - Expert level of Knowledge for airline business

**Key Challenges**:

- Keeping up with the evolving regulatory landscape: Regulations are constantly changing, and it can be difficult to keep up with all of the latest requirements. Statutory Reporting and Compliance Managers need to be able to quickly identify and understand new regulations, and then implement the necessary changes to their organization's policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that statutory reports are accurate and timely: Statutory reports are often complex and need to be prepared in a very short period of time. Statutory Reporting and Compliance Managers need to ensure that their team has the skills and resources necessary to prepare accurate and timely reports.
- Managing compliance risks: Statutory Reporting and Compliance Managers are responsible for identifying and managing the compliance risks that their organization faces. This includes developing and implementing compliance programs, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring compliance performance.
