The opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Lead (Senior Facility Manager) to join our team at Macdonald & Company Limited' in Johor, Malaysia. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of our state-of-the-art data centre facility, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the data centre's facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to ensure the continuous operation and reliability of the data centre's critical infrastructure
  • Monitor and analyse facility performance data, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective actions
  • Liaise with external service providers and vendors to coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards
  • Effectively manage a team of facilities technicians and engineers, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure high levels of performance
  • Collaborate with the IT team to align facility management with the data centre's operational requirements
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic facility management initiatives that support the company's growth and sustainability goals

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 4b years of experience in a similar Facilities Lead or Senior Facility Manager role, preferably within the data centre or mission-critical infrastructure industry
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, and their integration within a data centre environment
  • Proficient in interpreting and applying relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and environmental standards
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex facility-related issues
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of facilities technicians and engineers, including performance management and development
  • Familiarity with data centre operations and IT infrastructure, with the ability to align facility management with the data centre's operational requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering, or a related field, is preferred
