Job Description

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Assistant Manager / Manager to ensure our food products are safe, high-quality, and meet all standards. This role will be the key person leading a team to protect our product quality from raw materials to the finished goods. Your work will be crucial to maintaining the trust our customers have in our brand.

Description

  • Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams.
  • Develop and review all quality documents, including our Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and work instructions to keep them simple and effective.
  • Lead the company in maintaining important food safety and quality certifications (like HALAL, MeSTI, HACCP, GMP, ISO
  • Act as the main contact for all quality audits, including those from customers, government agencies (e.g., MOH, JAKIM), and external certification bodies.
  • Plan and conduct internal audits to check our own processes. Manage follow-up actions to fix any gaps found.
  • Oversee quality checks from raw material receiving through all production steps to the final product.
  • Work with the Production team to ensure quality is built into the process and to solve any quality issues on the line quickly.
  • Lead investigations into customer complaints or internal non-conformances to find the root cause and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, improve product quality, and increase efficiency across the factory.
  • Analyze quality data (e.g., defect rates) and report on performance to management.
  • Partner with the R&D team on new product launches to ensure they can be produced consistently with high quality and that all food safety validations are completed.
  • Manage and audit our raw material suppliers to ensure they consistently meet our specifications and food safety requirements.
  • Maintain all quality records accurately for full traceability.
  • Promote a positive culture where everyone is responsible for quality.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years QA/QC experience in food manufacturing, with exposure to audits and certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, HALAL, and food safety regulations.
  • Proficient in data analysis, documentation, and reporting (Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication in English, Malay, and Mandarin.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently and cross-functionally with Production, R&D, Procurement, and external stakeholders.
