Moulding Process Engineer – Injection moulding experience Required

The Process Engineer will be primarily responsible for new product trial runs and troubleshooting moulding processes. This position requires daily interaction with injection moulding machines, including starting up equipment, adjusting process parameters, and ensuring optimal production performance.

Candidates with experience in industries such as business machines, consumer goods, or small home appliances are preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a core member in technical reviews for new projects, ensuring mould designs support stable and efficient production.
  • Plan and execute tooling trials in a timely and well-documented manner, ensuring products meet quality and customer requirements.
  • Lead a technical team to develop and commission EOAT and/or automation systems to meet quality and efficiency goals.
  • Provide practical recommendations for tool design improvements to reduce trial time and optimize performance.
  • Prepare trial sample reports and establish standard setting sheets prior to first production runs.
  • Respond quickly to and resolve complex moulding process or quality issues during mass production.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production and quality teams to ensure consistent and stable processes.
  • Continuously improve and optimize moulding parameters to enhance product quality, efficiency, and process stability.
  • Ensure timely delivery and successful completion of new project trial runs.
  • Apply continuous improvement principles to achieve the best overall process performance.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Experience in the injection moulding industry, with a focus on process development and optimization.
  • Strong background in handling injection moulding projects and trial runs across various product categories.
  • Comprehensive understanding of injection moulding principles and the four key plastic variables: pressure, temperature, flow rate, and cooling rate.
  • Proficient in Scientific Moulding techniques and data-driven process control.
  • Experienced in working with a wide range of engineering plastics such as PC, ABS, PA, PBT, and POM.
  • Hands-on experience with major injection moulding machine brands (e.g., Demag, Engel, Arburg, KraussMaffei, Haitian).
  • Familiar with engineering and quality tools including DOE, FMEA, and 8D methodologies.
  • Experience with robotics or automation system integration is an advantage.
  • Proactive and hands-on, comfortable working directly on the production floor to address technical challenges.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Solid understanding of plastic materials; knowledge of tooling is an additional advantage.
