About the role

What you'll be doing

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the container depot team, including monitoring work progress, allocating tasks, and ensuring targets are met
  • Oversee the safe and compliant handling of containers, including loading, unloading, and storage procedures
  • Liaise with customers, transport providers, and other stakeholders to address any issues or concerns
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory management systems to track container movements and optimise depot operations
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and a customer-centric approach

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the logistics or transport industry
  • Strong understanding of container depot operations, including knowledge of container handling, storage, and transport regulations
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills to identify and resolve operational issues
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, effectively delegating tasks and providing guidance and feedback
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
  • Proficient in using relevant technology and software to manage depot operations and data
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance practices
