Job Title: Project Engineer – Warehouse Automation

Location: Kota Damansara

Employment Type: Full-time

Position Overview

The Project Engineer – Warehouse Automation plays a key role in the design, implementation, and commissioning of automated material handling and warehouse systems. This position bridges technical engineering, project management, and operations, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Execution
  • Support the planning, scheduling, and execution of warehouse automation projects from concept through commissioning.
  • Develop technical documentation, system layouts, and installation plans.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, controls, IT, operations) to align project deliverables.
  • System Design & Integration
  • Assist in designing and specifying automated systems such as Tote Handling System, conveyors, AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems), robotics, sortation systems, and warehouse control software.
  • Collaborate with vendors and integrators to evaluate equipment, perform system sizing, and ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
  • Technical Support & Implementation
  • Provide on-site technical support during installation, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Support process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives in warehouse operations.
  • Project Coordination & Reporting
  • Track project progress, monitor milestones, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, risk assessments, and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, clients, and internal teams to ensure project transparency.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Automation Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in project engineering, preferably within warehouse automation, material handling, or industrial automation sectors.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar design tools.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems, control networks, and warehouse management software is a plus.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Solid understanding of automation technologies (conveyors, robotics, sensors, PLCs, VFDs).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM5, RM10,000.00 per month
