As Chief Underwriting Officer, you will lead and guide the underwriting team on Treaty and Facultative, Lloyd's, Managed General Agents (MGAs) and Retrocession. You will be responsible for the Budget, Business Strategies and Targets including Market Development expansion and product development.
The position will be based in Kuala Lumpur.

AREAS of ACCOUNTABILIRIES

Underwriting

Technical underwriting, policies and strategies.

Portfolio Management

Manages portfolio composition including constructing performance reports to track progress.

General Operations, UW Operations (SICS) and Analytics

Manages the operations, Business Objects Dashboard reporting templates, prompt booking of contracts, receivables management.

Ensures protocols related to governance, adherence to Service Level Agreements, declaration of compliance in risk including risk registers.

Marketing, Servicing and Business Development

Drives and manages all marketing activities including servicing and product development.

Attends and speaks at major international insurance/reinsurance conferences.

People Management

Manages daily operations by supervising subordinate's day-to-day activities to ensure that processes are managed and delivered effectively and efficiently.

Drives closing of gaps as per Underwriting Competency Framework.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Have a minimum of 10 years in related experience in General Reinsurance Knowledge/Skills
  • Bachelor's degree - Actuarial Science/ Insurance/ Finance with professional qualification
  • ACII, FCII, AMII, CPCU or equivalent
  • Visionary leadership and strategic thinking
