About the role

Kamen Steel Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Asst Manager - Maintenance to join our team in Bukit Mertajam, Penang. In this full-time position, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the maintenance operations and ensuring the smooth and efficient running of our manufacturing facilities.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to optimise equipment performance and reduce downtime
  2. Oversee the maintenance team, including scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring
  3. Conduct regular inspections and identify potential issues, implementing preventative and corrective measures
  4. Collaborate with production and engineering teams to coordinate maintenance activities and minimise disruptions
  5. Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, costs, and inventory
  6. Continuously explore and implement innovative maintenance techniques and technologies to drive operational excellence
  7. Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a maintenance management role, preferably in the manufacturing or logistics industry
  2. Strong technical understanding of industrial equipment and maintenance best practices
  3. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  4. Ability to lead and motivate a team of maintenance technicians
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
  6. Proficient in the use of maintenance management software and data analysis tools
  7. Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
