Equipment Engineer

Production Engineer is responsible for facilitate improvement projects and Kaizen (Rapid Continuous Improvement) events to eliminate waste and increase efficiencies in various functional areas of the manufacturing processes (manufacturing processes, yield improvements and cycle time improvements). The position will require skill sets to break down complex operations with a process oriented mindset, analyze and assist in the implementation of the plants strategic plan, provide project management support, employee training and development.

1. Manage installation, calibration, and qualification of new production and test equipment ensuring alignment with production requirements and internal quality standards.
2. Design, develop, and implement manufacturing equipment and tooling, including sourcing and coordination with external vendors, while adhering to ethical procurement practices.
3. Plan and execute equipment and tooling-related projects, providing support for New Product Introduction (NPI) and process validation activities, ensuring all changes are documented and controlled.
4. Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, minimize downtime and maintain a safe working environment.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and tooling issues, implementing effective corrective and preventive actions with thorough documentation.
6. Develop and maintain comprehensive equipment-related documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance logs, and troubleshooting guides ensuring all information is accurate and accessible.
7. Analyze equipment performance data to continuously improve efficiency, reduce failure rates, and enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through data-driven decisions.
8. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Process Engineering, Facilities) to support operational goals and drive continuous process improvements.
9. Work closely with vendors and suppliers for spare parts procurement, technical support, and equipment upgrades, ensuring all transactions comply with internal controls and ethical guidelines.
10. Operate and maintain general utility systems, including compressed air, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and other facility equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
11. Ensure full compliance with all relevant safety, environmental, and internal operational standards including those related to quality management systems and information security.

1. Possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer, or a related Engineering field. Candidates with relevant certifications and proven work experience will also be considered.
2. Preferably have 3-5 years of hands-on experience in equipment engineering, development, setup, or maintenance within a manufacturing or electronics assembly environment.
3. Demonstrate solid knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical integration, and control systems, including Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) maintenance and troubleshooting.
4. Experience with automated machinery, Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) / test equipment, or semiconductor-related tools is considered an added advantage.
5. Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), and Lean Manufacturing principles.
6. Skilled in equipment design, mechanical repair, water and pneumatic systems, and practical applications in factory automation.
7. Possess strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills.
8. Able to work both independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
9. Willingness to support shift or weekend operations when required, ensuring fair scheduling and adherence to working hour limits
