We are seeking a hands-on and committed Assistant Mechanical Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support maintenance operations, troubleshoot mechanical issues, and ensure machinery reliability in a medium to heavy industry environment. Fresh graduates with strong technical skills and a passion for engineering are encouraged to apply.


Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Mechanical Engineer in maintaining machinery and utility systems
  • Carry out preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of plant equipment
  • Ensure proper maintenance documentation (PM, CMMS, job orders, etc.)
  • Lead and supervise teams during breakdowns, night shifts, and overtime tasks
  • Coordinate with vendors on repairs, spare parts, and technical proposals
  • Prepare and update reports (F6O, FTA, FRR, SOPs, KYM, work permits, etc.)
  • Support the creation of new SOPs, 5S implementation, and downtime reduction initiatives
  • Conduct root cause analysis (5 Why, RCA) and prepare technical reports
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and equipment upgrades

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (from a recognized institution)

Experience:

  • Fresh graduates or Junior Engineer with 1–2 years of hands-on experience in machinery/facility maintenance
  • Prior experience in medium/heavy industry is an advantage

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Hands-on experience with maintenance tools, systems, and documentation
  • Good understanding of maintenance standards, safety practices, and reliability
  • Ability to analyze equipment failures and track performance data

Soft Skills:

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and able to lead small teams
  • Flexible to work night shifts, overtime, and public holidays
  • Strong communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills
