About the Role

Vekan Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an accomplished
Project Manager
to lead our dynamic team in Port Klang. This will require you to be based in KunShan, 昆山 China for 2 years before transitioning to a permanent role at Vekan Malaysia. The Project Manager will oversee and coordinate automotive component development and production projects from initial customer inquiry to mass production.

Responsibilities

Quotation Preparation:

  • Analyze customer RFQs and technical requirements.
  • Coordinate with the China R&D and Malaysia costing teams to prepare accurate and competitive quotations.

Drawing and Technical Review:

  • Review and interpret customer technical drawings and specifications.
  • Facilitate design-for-manufacturing (DFM) discussions between the customer, China R&D, and Malaysia production engineering teams.

Cross-Regional Project Coordination:

  • Act as the central point of contact for all project stakeholders across China and Malaysia.
  • Ensure alignment between customer expectations, R&D design intent, and manufacturing feasibility.
  • Manage technical clarifications and maintain consistent communication across all regions.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Define project milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.
  • Develop and manage detailed project schedules encompassing design, tooling, sampling, validation, and mass production.

Customer Interface:

  • Maintain proactive communication with the customer regarding project updates, design changes, and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate the submission of samples and technical documentation for customer approval.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
  2. At least 3 years experiences in relevant field.

Required Skills

  1. Fluent in English and Mandarin
  2. Able to relocate to Shanghai for 2 years.
  3. Technical Drawing Interpretation
  4. Quoting and Cost Analysis

Preferred Skills

  1. Experience with IATF 16949 or ISO 9001 Projects
  2. Background in Precision Machining, Tooling, or Stamping
  3. Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, and other automotive core tools

Pay range and compensation package : Up to RM 16,000
