About The Role
This role is responsible for establishing and leading a high-performing analytics function that supports AIA's strategic goals and business growth.

• To create a Centre of Excellence for analytics solution strategy to enable AIA's vision in helping more Malaysians live healthier, longer and better lives.
• To build, lead and inspire the data science team to deliver brilliant analytics work that drives business growth, customer experience, drive productivity and optimize efficiencies.
• To create valuable best practices that can be replicated in other markets.
• To develop best practice analytics solutions to support business decisions with measurable success to drive business growth and effectiveness.
• To create and manage the analytics workplan with the Insights team and business users to ensure delivery of brilliant analytics work that meets the business pace.

Roles & Responsibilities

• To create the data science approach and roadmap to support the long-term and short-term business needs.
• To partner with the Insights team to ensure that the data science team delivers against the analytics workplan in a timely manner with brilliant quality work.
• To take a hands-on approach as the analytics technical expert, using large data sets and applying a variety of machine learning methodologies/algorithms and Generative/Cognitive AI (e.g. deep learning, NLP, image recognition, text recognition, chatbots, robotics, etc.) with different data tools to develop models, run simulations, and drive tangible business outcomes.
• To act as an analytics consultant for business stakeholders and a coach for team members, recommending and delivering creative analytics solutions for continuous improvement and solving business questions.
• To collaborate with potential partner(s)/vendor(s) or internal teams to develop efficient prototypes, assess AI solutions, provide feedback, identify areas for improvement, and finalize designs to automate or streamline operations within the Company.
• To apply MLOps and uphold high ethical standards when implementing machine learning models and AI solutions.
• To implement and manage a high standard of procedural documentation.
• To research and experiment with creative and advanced machine learning techniques and tools.
• To drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources.
• To possess strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working with senior leadership teams and EXCO members.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of study is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience.
• Expertise in programming-based analytics, with experience in at least two of the following languages: SQL (mandatory), R, Python, SAS.
• Proven experience in building statistical models, segmentation, predictive and propensity models (e.g. clustering, logistic regression, predictive models, conceptual modeling, hypothesis testing).
• Good understanding of machine learning algorithm design principles.
• Good understanding of machine learning model management practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary, and competitive environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, deductive reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams to drive positive outcomes.
• Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Added advantage if the candidate has completed machine learning or data science courses on platforms such as Udacity or Coursera.
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability to drive business outcomes.
• Experience in developing Generative AI solutions and working with Large Language Models (LLMs) is a plus.
