JOB SUMMARY

Successful candidates will be expected to convene and teach undergraduate units of study in the School of Design and Arts in academic disciplines related to 3D modelling & animation and motion graphics in Multimedia Design and their research expertise.

In addition, the ability to teach a wide range of design subjects including user interface (UI) design, digital publishing, branding, experiential design, photography and video production will be an added advantage. Knowledge of trends in emerging technologies and gamification will be highly valued. Experience with rapid prototyping will be considered a plus.

The successful candidate(s) shall provide leadership in teaching, both traditional and non-traditional research, as well as external engagement for Multimedia Design and the University as a whole.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and continuously enhance curriculum and teaching materials across various academic levels and programs.
  • Lead and facilitate teaching activities, including lectures, tutorials, and assessments, to ensure high standards of student learning outcomes.
  • Provide academic consultation and mentorship to students.
  • Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
  • Support the growth and innovation of the Faculty's learning and teaching initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a robust portfolio of research and scholarly activities.
  • Actively contribute to research training, the formation of research groups, and collaborative scholarly networks.
  • Engage with industry and professional communities in areas aligned with the Faculty's focus.
  • Provide leadership in academic, professional, and community-oriented initiatives.
  • Uphold high academic and professional standards across all responsibilities.
  • Participate in the administration and continuous improvement of academic programs within the Faculty

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Creative Media Technology; Communication Design; Multimedia Design; or related disciplines.
  • Alternatively, a Master's degree (MA or MFA) with significant industry experience in a relevant field will be considered.
  • Knowledge in 3D modelling, animation, and motion graphics is essential.
  • Knowledge in UI design, digital publishing, branding, experiential design, photography or image production will be an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trends in emerging technologies and gamification.
  • Experience in teaching in higher education in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Pay: RM5, RM9,000.00 per month
