JOB SUMMARY

The role requires expertise in media theory, digital communication, and contemporary media trends.

Ideal candidates will have a strong foundation in media production, journalism, corporate communication, or digital storytelling. Additional strengths in social media strategy, public relations, or media ethics will be considered an asset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES·

  • Design and continuously update curriculum and teaching materials across academic levels and programs.
  • Lead and conduct lectures, tutorials, and assessments to ensure high-quality student learning outcomes.
  • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
  • Supervise honours, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development in teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
  • Support the Faculty's learning and teaching initiatives through innovative practices.
  • Develop and maintain a strong portfolio of research and scholarly work.
  • Contribute to research training, formation of research groups, and collaborative scholarly networks.
  • Engage with industry and professional communities relevant to the Faculty's focus.
  • Provide leadership in academic, professional, and community-oriented initiatives.
  • Uphold high academic and professional standards in all responsibilities.
  • Participate in the administration and continuous improvement of academic programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Media and Communication, Journalism, Digital Media, or a closely related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years of higher education teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, preferably in media studies or communication.
  • Proven research record in media theory, digital communication, or emerging media technologies.
  • Expertise in data visualization or multimedia news production (audio and video) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of specialized or emerging sub-fields within media and communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • A record of scholarly publications in reputable journals, conference proceedings, and/or academic books.
  • Experience in curriculum development and academic administration.
  • Experience in supervising postgraduate students
  • Experience in delivering consulting or training services.
  • Involvement in collaborative research with peers or institutions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM7, RM9,000.00 per month
