Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Nursery / Early Childhood Teacher located in Akasa Cheras. The Teacher will be responsible for day-to-day tasks such as Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Working With Children, Curriculum Development, and Child Development.

Job Overview

Responsible in working with young children, typically ranging from 18 months old to around six years old, in a structured educational setting. The primary goal is to facilitate the children's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development during their formative years.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Curriculum Development:

  2. Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and educational activities.

  3. Create lesson plans that focus on various developmental areas, including language development, motor skills, social skills, and creativity.

  4. Classroom Management:

  5. Establish and maintain a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment.

  6. Manage the behavior of young children and promote positive social interactions.

  7. Foster a sense of community within the classroom.

  8. Individualized Instruction:

  9. Recognize and address the diverse needs and abilities of each child in the classroom.

  10. Provide individualized attention to help children overcome challenges and reach their developmental milestones.

  11. Parent Communication:

  12. Keep parents informed about their child's progress, development, and any concerns.

  13. Conduct parent-teacher conferences and provide regular updates on classroom activities.

  14. Collaboration with Colleagues:

  15. Work collaboratively with other ECE teachers, support staff, and administrators to create a cohesive educational environment.

  16. Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.

  17. Assessment and Documentation:

  18. Use various assessment tools to evaluate children's progress and development.

  19. Maintain accurate records of each child's achievements, challenges, and milestones.

  20. Promoting Social and Emotional Development:

  21. Create opportunities for social interactions and teach conflict resolution skills.

  22. Foster emotional well-being and help children develop a positive self-image.

  23. Incorporating Play and Creativity:

  24. Integrate play-based learning into the curriculum to enhance creativity and imagination.

  25. Use games, art, music, and other interactive activities to make learning enjoyable.

  26. Health and Safety:

  27. Ensure the health and safety of the children in the classroom.

  28. Implement hygiene practices and respond to medical emergencies when necessary.

  29. Professional Development:

  30. Stay updated on the latest trends and research in early childhood education.

  31. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.

  32. Any other tasks assigned by management from time to time.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least Diploma, Professional Certificate in Early Childhood Education/Education/English Language/TESL/Business Studies/Management/Accounting and any other related studies based on the subject to teach

  • At least 1 years of Experience in the related field is required

  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, and English

  • Able to speak Mandarin is to an advantage

  • Willing to work in Akasa Cheras

  • Good interpersonal skills, presentation skills, and communication skills
