Responsibilities & Duties
  • In charge in the application of the valid norms, standards, and laws, applicable to the activities executed at Project site.
  • Supervise the fulfillment of the health and safety management system and the applicable norms through inspections.
  • Coordinate the activities of the contractors through contract management.
  • Coordinate the activities of the site safety supervisor in occupational safety and hygiene through team management.
  • Give technical support to the HSE managers in the realization of health and safety committees through supply of information and technical clarifications.
  • Promote induction and specific trainings to all people that access project area.
  • Interact with the government in topics related to health and safety through follow-up, explanations, and supply of previously authorized documents.
  • Assure that all occupational accidents and nearly accidents, personal or impersonal are correctly investigated, analyzing, and spreading the information to all relevant parties.
  • Verify and assist the areas so that the health and safety action plans and tools can be correctly executed, through follow-up and support in the development of the plan.
  • Execute health and safety programs through implementation of health and safety management systems.
  • Realize awareness, orientation, and educational campaigns with the support of the Head Office.
  • Archiving of all the health and safety related documentation.
  • Make emergency plans, aiming the preparation of persons in case of emergency, so minimizing the impacts of the emergency.
  • Plan, coordinate, program and realize health and safety unsafe acts, safety observation, inspections following the teams in the execution of their tasks, verifying the adequate execution of the instructions in regard to occupational health, safety and hygiene.
  • Support and participate in all internal and external assessment or audits of the Integrated Management System.
  • Inspect working place/site to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
  • Interact with local authorities and client to ensure compliances with various legal and other requirements.
Requirements

Academic Qualification:

  • Candidate must must be a competent HSE trained by NIOSH or any institution.
  • Specific knowledge:

  • Intermediary MS office, advanced

  • Presentation techniques: advanced
  • Trainings: advanced
  • Investigation in occupational accidents and illnesses: advanced
  • Health and safety management systems: advanced
  • Auditing of Health and safety systems: advanced
  • Knowledge in related OSH law: advanced
  • Knowledge of environmental norms, procedures, and legislation: basic
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001: intermediary
  • Experience with ERP: basic
  • Firefighting: advanced
  • First aid: advanced
  • Knowledge of ergonomic: basic.

Experiences:

  • Based at project site.
  • Formation: Engineer with specialization in health and safety management (preferable).
  • Completed the Safety Officer Course.
  • Registered with DOSH with a green book holder (Valid).
  • Able to work under minimal supervision.
