Job Description

Sandisk seeks a talented and passionate industrial designer with experience and interest in product graphics to join our diverse and energetic design team. This is an outstanding opportunity to bring new ideas to our industry-leading consumer product lines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead design projects with creative synergy and adventurous outlook from product inception to product launch.
• Lead design-for-manufacturing activity with industrial design, engineering, and supplier teams to refine and finalize design.
• Engage with suppliers throughout Asia to support execution of product graphics, colors, materials, and finishes.
• Research, identify, and propose new manufacturing processes that add value to industrial design.
• Evangelize and demonstrate the value of design across our product portfolio.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate user needs, market trends, and technical considerations into effective design solutions.
• Create design concepts, including form factors, product graphics, and colourways.
• Leverage various design tools to communicate concepts, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Keyshot, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
• Support multiple programs at different stages of the design process.
• Develop detailed product specifications, including artwork, colours, materials, and finishes.
• Communicate with design, marketing, and engineering teams as well as suppliers across multiple regions.
• Provide mentorship to junior design staff.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial design or equivalent.

PREFERRED:

• Must have 7-10+ years of recent and relevant industrial design experience.

SKILLS:

• Expert-level skills in digital tools such as 3D CAD (SolidWorks), 3D renderings (Keyshot), Adobe Creative Suite, and MSFT Office.
• Ability to ideate, communicate, and develop industrial design concepts, including product form, colors, materials, and finishes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to solve complex problems with suppliers and engineering teams.
• Ability to concurrently handle multiple projects and adhere to schedules.
• Demonstrate qualifications with a portfolio that highlights process across industrial design, including design-for-manufacturing.
