Lead Structural Engineer

Working Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Job Purpose

The Lead Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading the structural engineering team in the design, analysis, and delivery of offshore platform structures. This role ensures compliance with international standards, project specifications, and safety requirements throughout all phases of the project.

Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and manage the structural engineering team for offshore platform projects.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines (mechanical, piping, electrical, naval architecture) to ensure seamless integration.

Design & Analysis

  • Perform detailed structural analysis for jackets, topsides, decks, and modules.
  • Review and approve structural calculations, drawings, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with API, ISO, and classification society standards.

Project Execution

  • Develop and maintain structural design schedules and deliverables.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning.

Quality & Safety

  • Conduct design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE standards and project quality requirements.

Client & Vendor Interaction

  • Liaise with clients, certifying authorities, and vendors for approvals and clarifications.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 10+ years experience in offshore structural engineering, with at least 5 years in a lead role.
  • Prior experience fixed offshore platform
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SACS, STAAD.Pro, SESAM).
  • Strong knowledge of offshore codes and standards (API RP 2A, ISO
  • Experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering phases for offshore platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
