About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced
Senior D365 Finance Consultant
with
6–8 years of hands-on experience
delivering Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations and enhancements. This is a
true senior functional consultant role
, ideal for someone who can
immediately step into a customer environment
, quickly understand the existing solution, and drive structured improvements across finance processes, integrations, user training, testing, and post-go-live activities.

The ideal candidate has strong Finance domain expertise and can work directly with stakeholders to support
Pre-UAT, UAT, cutover, go-live handholding, Hypercare, and ongoing post-go-live optimisation
.

Key ResponsibilitiesRapid Solution Assessment & Finance Landscape Understanding

• Quickly assess the
  existing D365 Finance environment
  , including configurations, customisations, workflows, and integrations.
• Review chart of accounts, financial dimensions, posting profiles, fiscal calendars, and module setups (AP, AR, GL, Cash & Bank, FA).
• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for optimisation.

Finance Process Expertise & Optimisation

• Work closely with Finance teams to review and refine processes across:

• General Ledger (GL)

• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Cash & Bank Management
• Fixed Assets
• Budgeting & Forecasting
• Project Accounting
  (if applicable)
• Cost Accounting / Cost Management
• Financial Reporting
  (Financial Reporter / Management Reporter replacements)
• Period close & month-end activities
• Recommend configuration updates, workflow improvements, automation, and best practices.

AP Automation & Integration Support

• Work with AP teams to support or enhance integrations with
  AP automation solutions
  (e.g., Bottomline, ExFlow, Medius, Kofax, Continia, or similar tools).
• Validate end-to-end invoice workflows, approvals, matching, posting, and vendor interactions.
• Support technical teams with functional requirements for AP automation or other Finance-related integrations.

Training, Documentation & User Adoption

• Prepare clear, structured training materials including:
• Training guides
• SOPs
• Process maps
• Quick reference guides
• Finance module how-to documents
• Deliver effective and interactive training sessions for Finance SMEs and end users.
• Provide follow-up coaching to support user adoption and confidence.

Pre-UAT, UAT, Go-Live & Hypercare Support

• Assist Finance teams during
  Pre-UAT
  : validating processes, cleaning configuration, preparing data, and reviewing scripts.
• Support
  UAT
  execution: test script creation, scenario walkthroughs, defect triage, and retesting.
• Participate in
  cutover planning
  , readiness checks, and execution for Finance modules.
• Provide
  day-of-go-live support
  and hands-on help during stabilisation.
• Deliver
  Hypercare support
  including issue resolution, process clarification, and ongoing improvements.

Post-Go-Live Continuous Improvement

• Identify ongoing optimisation opportunities and suggest enhancements.
• Review system performance, posting issues, workflow bottlenecks, or recurring user challenges.
• Help drive the adoption of new Finance features and D365 platform updates.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–8 years of hands-on D365 Finance (or AX) consulting experience.
• Deep functional understanding of Finance modules and end-to-end financial processes.
• Experience integrating D365 Finance with AP automation software.
• Ability to quickly grasp a customer's Finance setup and identify issues.
• Strong background in supporting UAT, go-live, Hypercare, and post-go-live improvements.
• Ability to prepare high-quality training material and deliver engaging training sessions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation abilities.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Subscription Billing / Revenue Recognition.
• Exposure to Banking integrations, OCR invoice capture, or EDI invoicing.
• Understanding of Project Operations or advanced cost accounting scenarios.
• Power BI exposure for financial dashboards and reporting.
