About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our Legal & Compliance team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic legal environment, supporting a range of functions including legal research, contract review, policy development, and compliance training.

This role is based in the Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

A summary of the key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Conduct legal research on a variety of topics including regulatory developments, case law, and industry-specific legal issues.
  • Assist in the review, analysis, and drafting of contracts, NDAs, service agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Support the drafting and revision of internal compliance policies and procedures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Help prepare training materials and presentations for internal compliance and legal training sessions.
  • Summarize legal findings and prepare memos and reports for internal use.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Legal & Compliance team as needed.

About you

  • Currently enrolled in a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree program.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Prior internship or coursework in corporate law, compliance, or contract law is a plus.

  • A start-up attitude - you take full ownership of things that you do, willing to go out of your comfort zones and take on new challenges.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity and flexible to learn new things - we're not done growing, and heading into uncharted territories is part of the fun
