Summary:

The role involves providing senior-level ABAP technical expertise, including code reviews, technical design support, and ensuring adherence to development standards and clean core principles. The candidate will collaborate closely with developers and functional teams, perform proofs of concept, analyze performance and errors, and support go-lives and hypercare phases. The position requires 8+ years of ABAP experience in ECC or S/4HANA, strong knowledge of modern ABAP practices and innovations, good communication skills, and flexibility to support projects across time zones and critical go-live periods.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform code review of developments done by developers in ABAP to ensure that quality meets the client development standards.
  • Assist developers in technical design and review technical design document.
  • Take part in handover sessions of the functional specification to the developer.
  • Follow-up on clean core related topics with developers and functional counterparts.
  • Perform PoCs of new requirements.
  • Error & performance analysis of existing developments.
  • Support go-lives and during hypercare periods with technical knowledge and code review.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as the team that maintains the development standards

Requirements:

  • Senior ABAP Developer or Technical Architect.
  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in ECC or S/4HANA.
  • Strong knowledge of ABAP best practices for ABAP Platform 7.52+ including ABAP security best practices.
  • Understands latest ABAP platform innovations in S/4HANA, such as CDS Views and RAP.
  • Good technical SAP module knowledge of at least 2 SAP modules (tables, user exits).
  • Additional technical SAP module knowledge is a plus.
  • e-Invoicing knowledge is a plus.
  • Understanding of GxP approach is a plus.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and willing to work in different time zones depending on project requirements.
  • Must be available to support a technical go-live that can happen on a weekend. (if required)
