Production Technician - Mechanical based in Malaysia

Your responsibilities:
The assembly Mechanical technician is a skilled professional responsible for assembling, wiring and testing electrical components and systems in production. The primary role is to ensure that electrical assemblies are built accurately, according to specifications and meet safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Compliance and Safety: To follow safety standards and regulations while performing their duties. Ensure that assemblies meet safety requirements and electrical codes to minimize the risk of malfunctions, hazards, or failures.
• Assembly: Perform mechanical assembly of components, parts and subsystems according to engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions. Use hand tools, power tools and other instruments to ensure accurate and precise mechanical assembly.
• Quality Assurance and Control: Adhere to quality control procedures and standards throughout the assembly process. Follow established quality assurance guidelines and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and reliability.
• After the wiring process, technicians perform inspections to verify quality of the electrical assemblies.
• Wiring and Connections: Proficient in reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams to understand correct wiring connections. Handle wires, cables, connectors, and terminal blocks to connect components and ensure proper electrical conductivity.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of assembly process including any deviations or modifications made during the wiring process.
• Continuous Improvement: Production technicians may actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance assembly processes, reduce errors and increase productivity. They provide feedback and suggestions for process optimization and collaborate with cross functional teams to implement improvements
• Collaboration: Assembly wiring technicians work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment. They collaborate with supervisors, engineers, quality team and other team members to ensure smooth workflow, resolve issues and meet production targets.
• Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on assembly tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning. Report any equipment malfunctions or deficiencies to the supervisor for repair or replacement.

Knowledge And Skills – Required

• Candidate must possess at least a Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Wiring or equivalent.
• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
• Safety Compliance – adhere to safety protocols. Familiar with grounding techniques, electrical insulation and proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
• Quality Focus: Commitment to producing high-quality work and maintaining strict adherence to quality standards. Attention to detail to identify and rectify any defects or non-conformance during assembly.
• Mechanical knowledge – solid understanding of electrical principles, circuitry, safety protocols and electrical codes.
• Wiring and installation – skilled in assembling/installing electrical wiring. Read and interpret schematics and blueprint
