Job Description:

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations to ensure targets for quality, yield, and productivity are met while maintaining safety and discipline in the workplace. This role requires hands-on leadership, effective communication, and strong coordination across teams.

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan and organize daily production activities to meet targets for quality, yield, productivity, and cycle time.
  • Conduct headcount planning and deployment to ensure sufficient manpower for all processes and shift requirements.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate production operators to perform effectively and achieve set performance objectives.
  • Lead the Daily Briefing Session (DBS) to communicate goals, updates, and key production priorities.
  • Communicate any changes in processes, procedures, or policies to operators and monitor compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enforce discipline, safety, and company regulations on the production floor.
  • Monitor production performance and process flow, reviewing WIP reports to meet cycle time and on-time delivery (OTD) targets.
  • Oversee material planning and inventory management to maximize material utilization and minimize wastage.
  • Identify and resolve quality issues promptly, including initiating lot recaptures and preventive actions where necessary.
  • Collaborate closely with Maintenance and Engineering teams to address equipment or process issues and achieve daily production goals.
  • Drive 5S implementation and participate in daily Gemba walks to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.
  • Provide timely feedback and updates to superiors regarding production status, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure smooth shift handovers through effective communication ("handshake") between supervisors.
  • Prepare accurate and up-to-date shift performance reports and other required documentation.
  • Address operator welfare, grievances, and disciplinary issues professionally, aiming for fair and balanced resolutions.
  • Coordinate cross-training programs to enhance operator flexibility and skill versatility across processes.
  • Maintain accountability for overall product quality and operational performance.
  • Undertake additional tasks or assignments as directed by superiors to support departmental goals.
Job Requirements:
  • Education: Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or semiconductor environment.

  • Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team management abilities.

  • Good understanding of production processes, WIP, and quality systems.
  • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
  • Proficient in MS Office and familiar with production reporting systems.
