Our client, a global data center company is looking to hire 4 headcounts for Changeman BO - 33kV in Johor, Malaysia. The
Chargeman BO - 33kV
is responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and supervision of electrical systems and equipment operating at
33kV and below
as per the regulations set by the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga) or relevant local authorities. This role ensures compliance with electrical safety standards, minimizes downtime, and oversees switching operations in substations or power distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Operation & Maintenance of Electrical Systems:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain
    33kV/11kV switchgear, transformers, circuit breakers, relays, and protection systems
    .
  • Conduct periodic inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify electrical faults in the distribution network.

Switching & Safety Compliance:

  • Perform
    authorized switching operations
    on 33kV and lower voltage systems.
  • Ensure compliance with
    Electrical Safety Regulations
    and
    Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements
    .
  • Implement
    lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
    and ensure safe work practices.

Supervision & Documentation:

  • Supervise electrical technicians and contractors working on high-voltage systems.
  • Maintain logs of switching operations, maintenance records, and incident reports.
  • Prepare and submit reports to authorities as required.

Emergency Response:

  • Respond to electrical breakdowns, outages, or emergencies promptly.
  • Coordinate with utility providers (TNB/SESCO) for grid-related issues.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all electrical installations comply with
    ST regulations
    and
    Occupational Safety & Health (OSHA) standards
    .
  • Renew and maintain
    Chargeman BO license
    as per legal requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certification:
    Valid
    Chargeman BO (33kV) license

  • Experience:
    Minimum
    3-5 years
    in HV electrical operations, substation maintenance, or power distribution.
