Job Summary:

Financial Reporting & General Accounting

  • Manage full set of accounts and ensure timely month-end and year-end closing.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, management reports, and consolidated reports.
  • Maintain general ledger, journals, and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure proper classification of revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cost Control

  • Develop annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with management.
  • Monitor actual vs. budget performance, highlight variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support project cost tracking and profitability analysis for engineering and automation projects.

Cash Flow Management

  • Monitor cash position, receivables, payables, and bank balances to ensure healthy liquidity.
  • Prepare cash flow projections and manage treasury activities.
  • Oversee invoicing, payment cycles, and credit control.

Compliance, Audit & Tax

  • Ensure compliance with Malaysian accounting standards (MFRS), statutory requirements, and company policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies for annual filing, tax returns, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain proper documentation for SST, corporate tax, and other statutory submissions.

Internal Controls & Process Improvement

  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Establish and continuously improve accounting policies, processes, and documentation workflows.
  • Support management with financial analysis for business planning, proposals, and investment decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with HR, procurement, project managers, and operations teams to align financial processes.
  • Support management with financial insights for decision-making, cost optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification preferred: ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent (full or part-qualified).
  • Strong understanding of MFRS, financial reporting standards, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience with ERP/Accounting systems (e.g., SQL Accounting, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, or similar).
  • Experience in automation, manufacturing, engineering, or project-based businesses.
  • Knowledge of project costing, WIP tracking, and revenue recognition methodologies.
  • Familiarity with multi-entity or regional financial consolidation.
  • Ability to implement or optimize accounting software and reporting systems.
