Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Project Planner to oversee the planning and scheduling of construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing timelines, coordinating resources, and ensuring that all phases of the project proceed according to schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather relevant data and ensure alignment with project timelines.
  • Identify potential project risks, delays, or resource conflicts and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor progress throughout the construction lifecycle and report on variances from the original plan.
  • Prepare and present regular schedule updates and progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Integrate project cost tracking and forecasting in conjunction with planning.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of schedule changes and their impact.
  • Support tender and bid process by providing schedule input and construction sequence planning.
  • Assist in resource planning and workload forecasting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (3+ years) in construction planning or scheduling.
  • Proficient in scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, project management principles, and industry standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

Preferred:

  • Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or commercial construction projects.
  • Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) and how it integrates with project planning.
  • Familiarity with project controls and earned value management.

Working Conditions:

  • Office-based with frequent visits to construction sites.
  • May require extended hours to meet deadlines.
