Regional Transactional Accounting Lead

As Regional Transactional Accounting Lead in Allianz Partners' Finance Factory, you'll oversee regional month-end and transactional accounting outcomes, partnering with a cross-border Shared Services Center and country stakeholders to deliver accurate closes, strong controls, and clear P&L and balance sheet insights. You'll organize and steer a local unit, drive standardization and automation, and act as the connector across teams—reporting to the Regional Head.

What you'll do

• Lead the Transactional Accounting Units in MY/SG/ID: organize/steer work, develop the team, set priorities, and ensure operational excellence.
• Run Record-to-Report/R2R month-end close: prepare/review Journal Entries and General Ledger (GL) postings in SAP under IFRS and local GAAP, tax and legal deadlines.
• Review journals and Trial Balance; identify/correct booking discrepancies and finalize monthly results.
• Perform Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet (BS) reviews by legal entity; analyse bookings to identify shortcomings and post corrections.
• Execute and oversee reconciliations: bank, AR/Accounts Receivable, AP/Accounts Payable, Intercompany, Fixed Assets, Goods Receipt/Invoice Receipt; clear open items and document balances.
• Ensure feeder-system transactions are recorded in the Accounting Systems; investigate and resolve interface issues; keep complete, justified documentation.
• Serve as interface with local stakeholders: manage posting queries, coordinate timely responses across Transactional Accounting, and communicate roles/responsibilities and related processes.
• Maintain internal controls and SOPs; support external audits and drive closure of related findings.
• Ensure availability and effectiveness of IT tools supporting the unit.

• Accountability: capacity to learn; initiative; drive to innovate and seek advances in technology and practices.
• Finance: finance acumen; Accounting & Tax proficiency with strong knowledge of Malaysian local tax regulations; HR acumen to lead, develop, and engage the team
• Good to have: SAP proficiency; knowledge of Solvency II regulation
