Infrastructure Engineer

Position Overview

As an Infrastructure Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our network infrastructure. You will be responsible for automating the deployment and management of network infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Helm, while integrating DevOps practices for efficiency and scalability. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will identify and implement opportunities for automation and process improvement, ensuring the stability, reliability, and security of our infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement VPN solutions: Configure and deploy site-to-site VPNs and client VPNs using Fortigate appliances to ensure secure communication between remote sites and enable remote access for employees.
• Deploy AD360 and Implement OpenID Connect: Set up and configure AD360 for identity and access management, and integrate OpenID Connect to provide single sign-on (SSO) authentication for our applications, ensuring secure and seamless access control.
• Setup monitoring infrastructure: Implement monitoring solutions using Grafana to collect, visualize, and analyze network and system metrics, enabling proactive monitoring and rapid incident response.
• Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Employ Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to automate the configuration, provisioning, and management of network infrastructure components, ensuring consistency, scalability, and repeatability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with developers, system administrators, and security specialists to understand infrastructure requirements, identify automation opportunities, and implement effective solutions.
• Documentation and knowledge sharing: Develop and maintain documentation for network configurations, automation processes, and best practices. Share knowledge and provide technical guidance to team members on infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.
• Continuous improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to infrastructure automation, security, and monitoring. Continuously assess and improve infrastructure automation processes to optimize efficiency and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Proven experience in configuring and managing Fortigate appliances for VPN solutions, including site-to-site VPNs and client VPNs.
• Familiarity with OpenID Connect authentication protocol and its implementation for single sign-on (SSO) integration with applications.
• Proficiency in implementing monitoring solutions using Grafana or similar tools to collect, visualize, and analyze network and system metrics.
• Strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and experience using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Helm for automating infrastructure deployments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex infrastructure issues and implement effective solutions.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development, staying updated with the latest industry trends and technologies in infrastructure automation and DevOps practices.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE), Certified OpenID Connect Implementer, or certifications in infrastructure automation and DevOps practices would be a plus.
• Experienced in deploying, operating, monitoring, optimizing and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and cloud-native applications.
