Job DescriptionManager, Data Governance : We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Manager for Data Governance in developing and managing the Western Digital Data Governance Strategy & Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing data governance policies, procedures, and standards, ensuring data quality, accuracy, and completeness, and managing the enterprise-wide data governance program. The Senior Manager for Data Governance will work closely with business leaders, data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to establish and maintain a data governance framework that supports business objectives and goals.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency..
- Establish and maintain a data governance framework that aligns with business objectives and goals.
- Work closely with business leaders, data analysts, and data scientists to ensure that data is managed effectively and efficiently across the enterprise.
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics and data lineage documentation.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and security regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- Oversee the enterprise-wide data governance program, including data stewardship, data ownership, and data management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and priorities.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that data governance requirements are incorporated into system designs and implementations.
- Develop and deliver data governance training and education programs for business and IT teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Information Management, Engineering or a related field. Master's degree would be an advantage.
- 8+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, data modelling, and data lineage.
- Proven ability to build positive relationships and navigate through multiple organisational complexities.
- Demonstrated successful deployment of enterprise level data governance framework and continuous improvement plans.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience leading teams in a complex and dynamic environment.
- Experience working with data privacy and security regulations, as well as industry standards and best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working with data governance tools, such as Informatica, Collibra, or IBM InfoSphere.
- Knowledge of data management best practices, including data architecture, data integration, and data quality management.
- Professional data governance certification such as CDMP, IGP , CGDSP would be an advantage.
