Job description:

1. Maintenance Oversight

  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and safety systems.

2. Team Management

  • Lead and manage maintenance staff, technicians, and contractors.
  • Provide training to ensure team efficiency and safety.

3. Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets
  • Oversee cost-effective procurement of equipment, tools, and supplies.

4. Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure facilities comply with local regulations, health codes, and safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential hazards.

5. Equipment and Asset Management

  • Track and manage inventory of tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Coordinate installation, replacement, or upgrades of systems or machinery.

6. Emergency Response

  • Develop contingency plans for emergencies (e.g., power outages, equipment failures).
  • Act quickly to resolve critical facility issues that may disrupt operations.

7. Vendor and Contractor Coordination

  • Negotiate and oversee contracts with service providers and contractors.
  • Evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality and adherence to agreements.

8. Continuous Improvement

  • Assess building systems and processes for improvement opportunities.
  • Suggest and implement energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions.

9. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Generate reports on facility performance and improvements for management.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, or Professional Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of working experience in F&B or retail facilities, including at least 2 years in a managerial or assistant managerial role.
  • Strong experience in maintenance and preventive maintenance.
  • Proven ability to track, monitor, and report on maintenance activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Good knowledge of electrical systems (single phase and three phase), including lighting.
  • Familiar with commercial kitchen equipment, general plumbing, carpentry, and air conditioning systems.
  • Willing to work long hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Must possess own transport and be willing to travel around Klang Valley and occasionally outstation.
